Crockett, Haines, and Corallo Receive Academic All-America Honors

TROY, Mich. – This week, the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) announced the 2018-2019 Academic All-American recipients to recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and academically.

 

Three members from the University of Tampa Spartans were recognized for their achievements both on and off the ice. Senior Carter Haines, as well as Juniors Sal Corallo and Gavin Crockett received the ACHA Academic All-America distinction. 

 

Sal Corallo, a Junior Biology major with a Pre-Med track, started 14 games for the Spartans winning 8 of them. Corallo posted a .897 save percentage, and a 3.19 goals against average during the 2018-2019 campaign.

 

Gavin Crockett, a Junior Finance major, had limited action during the season due to injury, only playing 14 games. Crockett, the Huntington, NY native accumulated 4 goals and 2 assists for 6 points, with 3 of his goals coming as Game Winning Goals. 

 

Carter Haines, a Senior Finance major, collected 8 goals and 14 assists for 22 points in 30 games played, with a team-high 4 Game Winning Goals during the 2018-2019 season. Haines ranks 6th in program history for career games played with 106. Carter also earned the Academic All-America distinction in 2018, marking the second time he received the honor.
